There are two modes to the game: endless and story mode. In some cases, as an immigration officer, you may have to make moral decisions like approving a petition citizen’s entry despite not having the proper paperwork. Papers Please address all issues relating to immigration policy within an ever-changing environment. Your salary will provide shelter, food and heat for your ingame family. Your daily completion rate will determine how much you are paid. You will be an immigration officer and review every citizen’s passport. The game is set at the border between imaginary east and western Berlin. This country has been politically hostile to its neighbour. Papers Please is an interactive puzzle game where the player plays the role of a border crossing officer in a fictional country called Arstotzka.
